Since the beginning of its activity (registered on July 27, 2005), The Russian Olympians Foundation relies in its work on the data provided by the authorized executive body in the field of physical culture and sports of the Russian Federation.
That is why the interaction between the Foundation and the Ministry of Sports of Russia is initially regulated by a special agreement that defines the principles of interaction between the parties.
Guided by the principles of interaction between the parties, set out in the agreement, since 2005, members of the sports teams of the Russian Federation in 38 Olympic sports (athletes, coaches, and specialists) have been awarded 17 thousand grants.
From 2009 to 2017, the Foundation, together with the Ministry of Sports of Russia, implemented programs to support specialized children's and youth sports schools of the Olympic reserve (SDYUSSHOR), within the framework of which schools from 71 constituent entities of the Russian Federation received about 1,200 grants for the acquisition of high-quality sports equipment and inventory for pupils.
This year, the Foundation, together with the Ministry of Sport of Russia, are prepared and implementing fundamentally new programs.
This year and the first half of next year, grants will be paid to the leading Russian coaches and specialists of several sports teams of the Russian Federation in Olympic sports, the value of which varies depending on the achievements of athletes at international high-level competitions.
For the first time, the Russian Olympians Foundation is implementing a program to support young and promising coaches - former champions and prize-winners of the World Championships, athletes who have completed their sports careers.
Fundamentally new is the program to support the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in connection with the development of new Olympic sports (karate, surfing, skateboarding, rock climbing, baseball, softball) as basic ones. As part of this program, sports organizations of 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation will not only supply sports equipment and inventory, but also manufacture and install rather complex sports equipment, with the use of which major international competitions in new Olympic sports will be held on the territory of the Russian Federation this year.
