About The Russian Olympians Foundation

The charity organization “The Russian Olympians Foundation” was founded with the participation and support of eminent Russian government officials and public figures, as well as of prominent Russian athletes.

The Foundation was registered on July 27, 2005.
The Foundation Resources are comprised of contributions by founders.

The Foundation’s Objective is to develop and strengthen the Olympic movement in Russia through implementing various charity programs aimed at supporting Russia’s high achievement sports.

The Expected Result is the improved performance of Russia’s teams in Olympic sports.
 

The Official Partner: Ministry of sports, tourism and youth policy (Russian Federation).
 

Grant Recipients: athletes, trainers, coaches and other experts involved in the training of Russia’s national teams for the Olympic Games.

Foundation’s Objectives

The primary objectives of the Foundation are:

• Comprehensive support of the Russian sports movement;
• Consolidation of sports veterans and supporters of sports societies in the interests of developing the mass sports and physical training movement in Russia;
• Assistance in material support to members of Russia's national teams in Olympic sports, young athletes, sports veterans and other individuals directly involved in the mass sports and physical training through their professional occupation;
• Support, development and strengthening of the Olympic movement in the Russian Federation;
• Stimulating the highest achievements and results in Olympic sports;
• Social and material support to Russian citizens - Olympic champions;
• Assistance in material support to sports organizations, including Russian public organizations on Olympic sports duly certified by sports and physical training authority in the Russian Federation.

Foundation Activities

In order to attain above-mentioned objectives, the Foundation

• Promotes a stronger unity between Russian and Western sponsors, patrons, financial institutions, government and non-government organizations interested in maintaining and developing the sports and physical training movement;
• Finances and implements programs aimed at developing and protecting the Olympic movement in Russia as well as at popularizing Russian sport and healthy lifestyle and at support of Russian Olympians;
• Assigns material and financial means for implementing charity programs aimed at achieving the Foundation's Charter objectives;
• Cooperates with all organizations concerned, other legal entities as well as individuals at regional, national and international levels;
• Develops its own programs and assists with financing other socially important cultural, scientific and charity programs;
• Publishes promotional materials to popularize the Foundation's charity activities;
• Conducts business activities to achieve the Foundation's objectives and to implement charity programs;
• Maintains voluntary membership in various associations and unions;
• Conducts other activities compliant with the Foundation's objectives and not contradicting the laws of the Russian Federation.
