On October 1, MGIMO hosted the opening of the 7th cohort of training for representatives of 11 sports federations in Olympic sports, specializing in International Communications Management in Sports. The program was prepared in 2014 jointly by the Russian Olympians Foundation and MGIMO and has been constantly improving since that time to meet the practical requirements of student-athletes as much as possible. Classes are held 5 times a week and are structured so that listeners in the afternoon can devote time to their production duties in the federations. The duration of the classes is more than a month. Students will get acquainted with such disciplines as: "International Protocol Practice", "Fundamentals of Sports Diplomacy", "International Negotiation" and others. Much of the time is devoted to professional English for sports managers and business training. Involved in teaching are leading and authoritative practitioners, extraordinary and limitless ambassadors and other employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, experts in the field of international sports law. English classes are held based on the First Department of English at MGIMO.
In total, over the years of cooperation with MGIMO, more than 200 grant recipients have received education at this educational institution.
